Lee Sungmin (born January 1, 1986), more commonly credited as Sungmin, is a singer, dancer, actor, former DJ, and a member of Korean boy band Super Junior. He was a regular DJ of Reckless Radio and is one of the two members in Super Junior who performs Chinese martial arts, the other being Han Geng. He currently attends Seoul Institute of the Arts, majoring in Broadcasting and Television Entertainment.
Television and film
Similar to bandmates Heechul and Kibum, Sungmin made his first television appearance as an actor before his debut with Super Junior. In August 2005 he appeared briefly in the MBC drama, Sea of Sisters. A year later Sungmin appeared in the SBS Banjun Theatre drama Finding Lost Time as a guest star acting alongside TVXQ's Micky Yoochun. His first big-scale film was Attack on the Pin-Up Boys, an SM Pictures production that starred all Super Junior members except Kyuhyun. He played the role of a pretty schoolboy who later got attacked by an unknown criminal. Despite positive critical ratings, that film did not do well in the box-office, but all four versions of the film's DVD were all sold out and broke chart records.
DJ career
Sungmin replaced bandmate Kang-in as one of the key DJs of Reckless Radio and was hosting it with Sooyoung of Girls' Generation in 2007. On February 3, 2008, Sunny, also a member of Girls' Generation, replaced Sooyoung.
Sungmin also speak some Japansese as seen in Super Junior's documentary about their fan meeting in Japan on August 2008.
